YEAH!!! We are in the 15th edition of the Lonely Planet China!🎊🍾
On Sunday 2nth of July we witnessed the biggest flood since nine years. A lot of businesses and houses were destroyed by the water. Fortunately we did not have any damage at the Giggling Tree. Life is slowly getting back to normal and we have big respect for the Chinese people who seem to get back on their feet quickly.
The Giggling Tree from above in the late afternoon…Piàoliang!
Last week we had a special day. We had our very own flea market! By picking a card, everyone could win many great items for free!
Each person also made something special for dinner, so we could try a lot of local Chinese specialities!
Next to that, after 7 years it was Lucy’s last day of working at the Giggling Tree.
We will miss her and wish her all the best for the future!
Our local King Karst will celebrate his 50th birthday next year, but this year we wish our King Willem-Alexander a happy 50th birthday!
During the Easter weekend the Easter bunny paid us a visit! Next to the special Easter breakfast we did a lot of fun activities such as egg painting and of course.. EGG HUNT!
Yes, the swimming pool is open again.
We started the high season with a team barbecue!
Ni hao! Let us introduce.. Niels & Milou!

During Spring Festival the Giggling Tree will be closed. Our doors close on January 8th and will open again on February 22nd. Maybe we will see you in the next two months. If not, we hope to welcome you in the year of the Rooster!
Monique van der Linde and Ydwer Hamstra, a travelling Dutch couple, have written an article about the Giggling Tree on their website after their visit: www.globehopper.nl.
Take a look to see how they experienced the Giggling Tree and lots of other beautiful places. Unfortunately the website is not yet available in English, but they are planning on releasing the English article soon!
This year the Giggling Tree exists 10 years. Last week we started the celebration of our 10 year anniversary with the people of our village. It was a beautiful day and a very nice party with lots of fire works, food and drinks!
This week the new managers of the Giggling Tree arrived! Sara and Martijn will be the ‘jinglies’ of the Giggling Tree this year. Together with Karst, Paulien, Pelle and Raaf, Sara and Martijn will do their best to make your stay at the Giggling Tree memorable!
